Tino Marine is New Zealand's home of Flyfin amphibious aluminium fishing boats and Fenton Marine custom builds. Designed, engineered, and manufactured in Papamoa Beach, Bay of Plenty.

Tino Marine Limited is an aluminium boat manufacturer based in Papamoa Beach, Bay of Plenty, New Zealand. Founded in 2015, Tino Marine is the parent company of two brands: Flyfin Boats, which produces amphibious and conventional aluminium fishing boats, and Fenton Marine, a custom design and build division led by marine designer Nicholas Fenton.
With 90% of every vessel manufactured in-house using CNC routing and precision fabrication, Tino Marine controls every detail of the build process — from raw marine-grade 5083 aluminium through to the finished, sea-ready vessel. Only paint and upholstery are subcontracted to specialist providers.
Nick Fenton's background spans Tristram Marine, a Marine Design degree from Massey University, hydrofoil development, and superyacht project management. That depth of experience drives every Flyfin and Fenton Marine vessel that leaves the Papamoa Beach facility.
Why Tino MarineFlyfin aluminium boats are built without compromise — from the Sport Open range's agile centre-console platforms to the Hard Top range's premium offshore cabin cruisers and the Amphibious range's Tectrax-equipped vessels. Every hull shares precision welding, marine-grade 5083 aluminium, and the attention to detail that defines the Flyfin name.

4.9m centre-console aluminium fishing boat. Compact, fuel-efficient, and built to Flyfin's precision-welded standard. Ideal for inshore and coastal fishing with up to 75HP.

5.2m centre-console aluminium fishing boat with wider beam and increased payload. The natural step-up for inshore and coastal anglers who need more room.

5.8m sport open aluminium fishing boat. The versatile mid-range performer with ample deck space for demanding NZ coastal and inshore conditions.

6.1m hardtop aluminium cabin boat. Family-friendly fishing with serious offshore capability, premium fit-out, and all-weather protection.

6.96m hardtop aluminium fishing boat. Built for serious anglers who demand all-weather comfort and genuine offshore performance.

7.0m hardtop offshore aluminium cabin cruiser. The flagship hard top — built for extended trips, demanding seas, and serious engine options.

The ultimate hardtop aluminium offshore vessel. Maximum space, maximum capability — for those who accept no compromise on the water.

6.96m hardtop amphibious aluminium fishing boat. Full Tectrax T3000 Gen2 amphibious capability — launch from any shoreline, no ramp required.

7.5m hardtop amphibious aluminium fishing boat. More deck space, more power, same unstoppable Tectrax amphibious capability for extended offshore missions.

8.2m hardtop amphibious aluminium fishing boat. The serious offshore amphibious vessel — built from 5083 aluminium for adventures others simply cannot reach.

8.55m wide-body amphibious aluminium vessel. The ultimate Flyfin — maximum beam, maximum offshore capability, with full Tectrax amphibious integration.

The Tectrax T3000 Gen2 is a fully electric amphibious drive system integrated into every Flyfin amphibious boat. It deploys wheels from the hull, allowing the vessel to drive from a trailer or beach directly into the water — and back out again — without a boat ramp. The system is operated from the helm, deploys in seconds, and retracts completely for a clean hull on the water.
Flyfin identified that no purpose-built aluminium amphibious fishing boat existed in the New Zealand market. The amphibious range was developed to fill that gap — giving anglers and families access to remote beaches, riverbanks, and shorelines that conventional boats simply cannot reach.
No boat ramp needed. Any beach, river, or bank becomes your launch site.
Engage the fully electric system from the helm. Wheels deploy in seconds.
The boat drives itself from land to water. Wheels retract once afloat.
Access remote spots no conventional boat can reach. Where most boats stop, Flyfin begins.
Fenton Marine is the custom design and build division of Tino Marine, led by marine designer Nicholas Fenton. Fenton Marine crafts bespoke aluminium vessels to any specification — from superyacht tenders to custom pontoon boats and specialised watercraft.
The signature Fenton build pairs a precision aluminium hull with an optional GRP (glass-reinforced plastic) superstructure, delivering the strength and corrosion resistance of alloy with the refined finish of composite. Every build can integrate the Tectrax amphibious system on request.

"The Flyfin 750 HTA changed everything for us. We launched straight off the beach at Coromandel — no ramp, no queue, no stress. The build quality is outstanding. Best purchase we've ever made."
"Nicholas and the team built us a custom pontoon tender. The attention to detail, the quality of the aluminium work — it's simply outstanding. World class. Can't recommend Tino Marine enough."
"The 820 HTA is a beast. We take it out in conditions other boats won't attempt. The 5083 aluminium hull is bombproof, and the amphibious system works flawlessly every single time."
An amphibious boat is a vessel equipped with a drive system that allows it to travel on land and water. Flyfin amphibious boats use the Tectrax T3000 Gen2 fully electric drive system, which deploys wheels from the hull to drive the boat directly from a trailer or beach into the water — no boat ramp required. The system retracts fully once afloat, leaving a clean hull for on-water performance.
Every Flyfin boat is designed, engineered, and manufactured at Tino Marine's facility at 54 Enterprise Drive, Papamoa Beach, Bay of Plenty, New Zealand. 90% of every vessel is built in-house using CNC routing and precision fabrication. Only paint and upholstery are subcontracted to specialist providers.
The Tectrax T3000 Gen2 is a fully electric amphibious drive system integrated into Flyfin's amphibious range (700, 750, 820, and 850 models). It allows the boat to drive from land into water and back again without a boat ramp. The system is operated from the helm, deploys in seconds, and retracts completely for on-water use. It enables access to remote beaches, riverbanks, and shorelines that conventional boats cannot reach.
Flyfin boats are built from marine-grade 5083 aluminium — a high-strength, corrosion-resistant alloy specifically rated for marine environments. All hulls are fully welded plate construction (not riveted), providing superior strength, watertight integrity, and a lifespan measured in decades with minimal maintenance.
Flyfin manufactures three distinct ranges: the Sport Open range (1600, 1700, 1900) — lightweight centre-console aluminium fishing boats from 4.9m to 5.8m; the Hard Top range (2050, 2100, 2300, 2600) — premium offshore cabin boats from 6.1m to 8.5m; and the Amphibious range (700, 750, 820, 850) — Tectrax-equipped hardtop boats from 6.96m to 8.55m. Flyfin also builds purpose-built aluminium boat trailers.
Fenton Marine is the custom design and build division of Tino Marine, led by marine designer Nicholas Fenton. Fenton Marine crafts bespoke aluminium vessels to any specification — from superyacht tenders to custom pontoon boats and specialised watercraft.
